Local Magazine would like to congratulate the ‘Next Gen’ members on the success of their presentation night recently. The group are promoting entrepreneurship in Cohuna and we were honored to be asked to feature in the video for the presentation which will soon be posted up on YouTube (details here when it is posted).
Along with the other pilot towns of Boort & Birchip, the group are hoping to prevent small towns such as Cohuna loosing young blood to the lure of the bigger cities. They aim to do this by discussing and developing ideas for local business to create opportunities for young talented people who may be interested in staying, or relocating, to the area.
The group have secured a storefront in Market St which they are offering for 12 months rent-free for new businesses starting up in the area. As well as this fantastic opportunity Operation Next Gen explored ideas around a ‘Cohuna Open’ working with local real estate agents to promote business and properties for sale, as well as a food art & wine festival at the Old Butter Factory.
Congratulations to the Cohu a Operation Next Gen group for all your hard work and belief in our town. Well done to you all from Local Magazine.
